Refrigerator Repair Parts

Refrigerator is not cold enough and frozen food is not frozen solid

Defrost system failure – The defrost system is made up of the defrost heater, defrost thermostat, and the timer (or computer board). For diagnosis confirmation and free assistance in determining which component has failed call U-FIX-IT Appliance parts.

Condenser fan motor – This motor is located near the compressor and should be running any time the compressor is running. Remove the motor and take it to the U-FIX-IT Appliance Parts store for free testing.

Refrigerator is not cold enough but frozen food is frozen solid.

Evaporator fan motor – The evaporator fan motor moves cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator. Call the U-FIX-IT Appliance Parts store for free assistance with diagnosis.

Icemaker will not make ice

Icemaker or the water inlet valve. Call the U-FIX-IT Appliance Parts store for free assistance with diagnosis to determine which one is bad.

Water will not flow from water dispenser

The water inlet valve is the most common failure. Remove the valve and take it to the U-FIX-IT Appliance Parts store for free testing or call for free assistance with testing on the refrigerator. A clogged water filter can also cause this symptom.

Door does not close completely

Door closer or cam – This small plastic part is located below the door on the hinge. It fractures and comes apart with age and use. Call U-FIX-IT Appliance Parts with your model number for a replacement.

Door gasket – Old gaskets can lose their magnetism. Call U-FIX-IT Appliance Parts for instruction in using the “dollar bill test” to determine if your gasket is bad.

Compressor will not start - It seems to be trying to start.

Bad or weak compressor – A “hard start” may extend the life of your compressor. Call the U-FIX-IT Appliance Parts store and see if this solution makes sense for your situation.

Low Freon

It is probably not low freon. 30 years ago refrigerators tended to leak refrigerant. Modern refrigerators tend to hold their charge unless there is damage such as an ice pick used to remove ice from the freezer.
