Description
Part No. ERW10190961 Icemaker for Whirlpool
Part purpose:
The icemaker is part of the ice-making system that receives water and ejects cubes into the bucket. The ice-making system consists of the icemaker, circuit boards that sense ice level in the bin, and a water inlet valve.
Part location on Refrigerator:
The ice maker is located in the freezer compartment.
Part failure symptoms:
The ice maker stops making ice.
Part diagnosis:
If food is freezing solid in the freezer compartment, then the icemaker can be tested by pouring water into the ice maker mold and waiting 3 hours. If ice kicks out into the bucket, then bring your icemaker water valve into the store for free testing to confirm it is bad. If ice is not kicked out into the bucket, U-FIX-IT recommends replacing both the ice maker and the circuit boards (see 4389102). Call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.
