Part purpose:

The fuse is a safety that protects the dryer against overheating. This is a one time use fuse that stops the flow of electricity when the limit temperature is exceeded protecting against potential fires.

Part location on dryer:

Fuse is located on the blower housing below the drum on models with the lint screen inside the door. On dryers with the lint screen located on the top of the dryer, the fuse is located on the blower housing on the back of the dryer.

Part failure symptoms:

When this fuse fails it may cause the dryer not to start or on some models, it may cause the dryer to run, but not heat.

Part diagnosis:

If there is no continuity through the fuse it is bad. Bring your “fuse” in for free confirmation that it is good/bad or call the U-FIX-IT store for free assistance with diagnosis.
